• Bagels, doughnuts, and coffee available after the 6:00 am service
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF HEALTH KITS ...
During this Season of Lent, please bring one of these items for a Lutheran World Relief Health Kit each week. Right before Palm Sunday, kits will be assembled, and during worship on Palm Sunday, we will bless and send these kits on to those who really need them.
ITEMS NEEDED ..
- One hand towel, dark color recommended;
- One washcloth, dark color recommended;
- One bath-size bar of soap (four to five oz.), any brand, in original packaging;
- One adult-sized toothbrush in original packaging;
- One sturdy comb; REMOVE packaging;
- One metal nail file or nail clippers with file attached;
REMOVE packaging; do NOT substitute cardboard emery boards for the file; - Six Band-Aids® (or similar brand), preferably 1/2" to 3/4" wide;
secure together with a rubber band; - DO NOT INCLUDE ANY TOOTHPASTE!!
- If you, or your family, would like to assemble a kit (or two or three) on your own, please do so! But PLEASE be sure to bring your assembled kits to church before Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010.
- Kit packing instructions:
- wrap smaller items in washcloth;
- wrap washcloth and remaining items towel;
- tie towel SECURELY with ribbon or yarn;
- DO NOT PUT INTO A PLASTIC BAG;
- DO NOT INCLUDE ANY TOOTHPASTE!
The cost to handle and ship one health kit overseas is $2.65 (including toothpaste which will be added to kit). Cash donations are also welcomed and appreciated!
