We had a joyous, albeit slightly treacherous, Christmas Eve service tonight. The eagerly-anticipated "White Christmas" arrived at the last minute, which made for a snow-covered driveway up the hill to our church. At one point there were over a dozen vehicles at the bottom (including Pastor Rebecca's!) , each waiting for a chance to tackle the hill. The arrival of our contracted plow truck finally "blazed a trail" for the procession, and our worship began only 10 minutes late.
Susan and John Cook practiced in advance with the youth to perform "Silent Night" (including a verse in German) during the Sunday morning and evening services, with Susan directing and John accompanying on 12-string guitar.
