May Session of "Messy Church"

May 18, 2018

Our next session of the ever-popular "Messy Church" will be held on Wednesday May 23rd in our Fellowship Hall (and just outside). Doors open at 5:30pm.

[Due to Messy Church, there will be NO Handbell or Adult Choir Rehearsals this night.]

This time, the "messy" part will involve the initial filling and planting of three new raised-bed garden boxes. Produce we raise will be donated to the Food Pantry of Antioch's Open Arms Mission (fresh produce is a rare sight at most food pantries).

One of the new growing beds is also elevated, making it easier to any physically-challenged members to still join in throughout the year to (re)plant, weed, harvest, or otherwise "fuss-about". They were also located so as to be easier to access, and easier to see; this in contrast to our original out-of-site and out-of-mind growing beds behind the church we previously tried.

Many MANY thanks to John Cook for his research and work in assembling the garden boxes, and for the coordination of the Messy Church Team, the Property Committee, and the Stewardship Committee for all reminding us that we are to be "good and faithful" stewards of ALL that God has given us... not just finances!
