Above is a picture of masks we are sending to Open Arms our social services partner in Antioch:
94 adult masks
25 kids masks
14 toddler masks
We also have 2 new sewers, Susan Cook from Saint Stephen, and Mike DeBenedetto from the United Methodist Church of Antioch; that will give some of our other sewers a break! We are glad to have Susan and Mike join us.
Plenty of material is available in the Saint Stephen closet, and some is from the sewer's stash. Since elastic is hard to come by and expensive, we did ask for and received a Thrivent Grant to help with expenses. Thrivent provides help when a project is benefiting the community. We also have donations from people who received our masks.
In addition to Open Arms, since our last note we have donated to: Arcoa Trucking, Wickstrom Ford, and the Dog N Suds and Laundromat in Ingleside.
Now we are on to sewing for PADS, which operates Lake County's only overnight emergency-shelter program!
Peace and Stay Well,
