In September, 2010, diakonia™ began its 11th year of classes in the Metropolitan Chicago Synod. During its time of service, 109 laypeople have completed this two-year theological program. Perhaps you or someone you know is ready to be empowered for ministry in today's world. A brochure with information about the program that can be printed and distributed is available online at http://www.mcselca.org./diakonia/chicagotriptych2.pdf. The Diakonia ™ website may be found by clicking HERE.

Our pastor is Pastor Ellen Arthur. Please introduce yourself to her if you should happen to meet her, and ask her about Saint Stephen!
The Education Ministry Team is welcoming new members to prepare for and be part of the 2009-2010 season. The Team meets on an as-needed basis. If you would like to know more (or just have a say) about Sunday School, Confirmation, Adult Bible Study and/or Vacation Bible School, then please join! Meetings are open to everyone, and no committment is required.
Volunteers are Needed for Church Chores! The Property Ministry team asks everyone to consider their time and talents and abilities, and to volunteer to help with one or two "chores" around our church. Those "chores" range from weekly to seasonal, as well as one-time-only! For more information, or to volunteer, please see Dennis Friedle, Howard Geier, Vince Bisbee, or Ken Fenske.
Meals-On-Wheels Needs Volunteer Drivers to deliver lunch Monday through Friday between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Volunteer drivers may assist once a week, once a month, or as often as they are able. Over 500 meals are served each week to seniors who are not able to prepare a meal for themselves. Areas served consist of Antioch, Lake Villa, and Lindenhurst. For more information, contact Ronna at 847-838-6415, or Ken Fenske, at 847-395-3984.
"Simply Giving": With "Simply Giving," your monetary gifts to Saint Stephen are authorized to be made either on a one-time basis, or in a recurring fashion, in one of two ways:
- On-line, using your personal computer and web browser on the Internet (click HERE);
- Using printed paper authorization forms (available in person from the Church Office).
Would You Like to Be Part of Our "Prayer Action Line"? Prayer requests are shared through a confidential telephone calling chain each week. If you are interested in being part of this ministry, please see, or call, Wendi McAlonan at 847-395-5744. If you have a prayer request, please fill out a "Prayer Request" form found in the "Friendship Pads" and on the narthex table, and place it in the silver box. These requests are kept confidential by prayer-chain members.
